McCain or Obama?

The Tribune asked 20 people last week which candidate they support for president and why?
AlbertLeaTribune.com asked its readers to submit comments on the presidential race. Here are some of the responses:
It’s simple, it’s obvious isn’t it!
Junior executive?
Senior executive?
Medical internest?
Medical surgeon?
Accountant?
CPA ?
City organizer?
U.S. senator?
Who would you hire?

Vote McCain & Palin!
Why? They are just better people!

I am an independant.
McCain made it it impossible to get my vote when selecting the animal killer from Alaska.
The candidate debates will be the decider whether I vote for Obama — or third party.

I will have to vote for which one I deem the lesser of two evils, as has been done so many times before. Too much PARTY! NOT enough let’s work for the PEOPLE!

People REALLY can’t be as stupid as to believe that if you vote for a Republican again that things will change? We had an actual surplus of money and were very close to having a balanced federal budget when we had a Democrat in the “White House.” What happened? We now owe China billions of dollars and have our federal debt so screwed up that we may never be right. How soon people forget. Maybe they are that stupid!

Just a short saying. The smartest people are the rich Republicans, the dumbest people are the other Republicans.

It’s everyone’s fault that we owe China and many other foreign nations. No one party to blame. We (government and the people) irresponsibly borrowed from China, etc., for years. Even with the current banking crisis China and others are willing to bail us out. Today, China is saving our (word deleted).
Once credit becomes impossible to obtain I think we’ll learn how to live within our means and as a country we’ll also become more financially responsible.
Anyway, I’m voting Obama.

The two-party system sucks. We are stuck with dumb and dumber. … Yet both sides are to blame. The DFL has a lot to answer for in Minnesota (higher gas and property taxes) as does the Republicans. Look at the issues both want bigger government, both want to give to everyone and take from those who do work. Neither party can save you. This country was founded by men who understood we have the right to make life better for us not to work to provide for the government. We hated the king yet in just 200 years we have established a Congress who thinks they are king and a president who thinks he is. The power is with us the people. …
Why is it OK to make and spend millions as an actor, but if you build a business and provide jobs to the people you are evil. Think of it this way when a small business person is successful he/she may higher more people and they spend money in the towns where the have a business. Bill Gates started small yet he has made a lot of people rich he helped make his home state wealth why because government can’t create it can only take
History shows that America became great because we promised everyone the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We never said you are promised Social Security, welfare, health care, big government. Why should we take from the producer to give to the taker.
For me it is going to be hard to vote.

Mr. Obama has a collection of people in his past that should scare the willies out of anyone wanting him in office. Take a look at his friends and people he looks up to and has been hanging around with before deciding.
Look at his record as a senator. Has he done anything while he’s been in office besides saying he’s present?
He wants to bail out the world by handing out billions of dollars to get everyone out of poverty. When did it become this country’s job to do that? Isn’t that the same as playing the world’s policeman? Guess who’s going to pay for it.
His party is so scared they’re attacking a woman. Look at the hatchet job they’re doing on Mrs. Palin. Does anyone really deserve the kind of treatment she’s been getting? The Democrats would be screaming if it was someone in their party, why are they OK with it now? They should be standing on the abilities of these people, not the snide remarks coming out of some people’s mouths.
The old saying goes put up or shut up. Let’s see the records of who paid for Mr. Obama’s college tuition, his real birth certificate, and any other records that they’re refusing to show. Why are they refusing to show them? Hmmmmm. Should make you wonder.

It’s amazing that middle-income and low-income people can support Big Oil and the money brokers behind Wall Street that have used GWB as a puppet. Sen. McCain has had 30 years to be outstanding in the Senate and he has pandered to one special interest after another. McCain and Palin will provide no economic or policy that will benefit any of the workers, retirees, or business owners in small towns like Albert Lea. The challenges facing Obama would be huge but any change will be better than four more years of a Republican talking head.
