The Albert Lea boys soccer team lost to Austin for the second time this season by a score of 1-0 in Art Hass Stadium Tuesday.

The only goal of the night came 27 minutes into the first half when Austin’s Niclas Ryberg bent a shot around goal from about 17 yards on a pass from Moritz Doering.

Albert Lea started the game strong as Jared Jensen had two opportunities stopped near the net in the first five minutes.

The Tigers almost scored with 30 seconds left in the first half, but Austin goalie Ryan Rasell laid out to make the stop.

Albert Lea had eight shots in the first half but the inability to find the back of the net haunted the team the rest of the game.

“We have to take charge of a game like this earlier,” Tigers head coach Elia Romano said.

Albert Lea fell to 4-6 on the season.
