1991 — The Albert Lea High School Band would be participating in parades for the Minneapolis Aquacentennial and New Richmond, Wis., Fun Day over the weekend.

1981 — A Tribune article by Love Cruikshank featured John Horon of Wells who had won several awards for his art work.

1961 — Eldon Wettlaufer was appointed to be Albert Lea’s new fire chief. He had been with the department for 10 years.
