The Freeborn County community is invited to participate in a service of remembrance for the seventh anniversary of the loss of lives in the destruction of the World Trade Center in New York City, extensive damage to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the crews and passengers of four commerical airliners.
The service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Albert Lea. The service is on Thursday, Sept. 11, from noon to 12:45 p.m. in the sanctuary. This open service will allow time for personal reflection, corporate prayer, silence in the Quaker tradition, directed meditation on readings from scriptures of several faith traditions and secular sources.
There will be music appropriate for remembrance, hope and peace. Included in the service will be prayers of remembrance, justice, peace, hope, reconcilliation and forgiveness. Dr. Toby Thompson will be the leader of this service.
