Thanks to Nya Lony for giving us an update on the newest country in our world — South Sudan. I look forward to seeing it on a revised world map. It’s interesting to learn how Sudanese in the United States gather regionally to vote, meet with their leaders and discuss their constitution. Independence is wonderful, but I understand South Sudan has a long way to go to become a viable country. I don’t know whether the U.S. will be able to help much with that. It will also be interesting to see if Sudanese in the U.S., especially young adults, move to Africa to help develop their home country.
