The Autism Bowling Fundraiser on June 14 at the Holiday Lanes Bowling Alley was a great success and a fun day for everyone.

The total money raised was $2,780.

Currently there are 109 children in Freeborn County schools that are on the autism spectrum. Of the money raised at the event, $2,400 will go to help the children. The money will be divided up according to how many children are at each school. There are 11 schools in Freeborn County that will be receiving money. Each school will get their check in the early fall when school starts up again. The money will be going directly to autism programs to help purchase needed supplies or equipment for the children.

The remaining $380 will go into the Autism Support Group fund. The Autism Support Group meets the first Thursday of every month from September through May. It provides fellowship and education to parents, grandparents, siblings and anyone else interested in learning more about autism.

Another bowling fundraiser is being planned for next spring.
