Here are highlights in history for July 17, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1985 — Tribune ads for J.C. Penney, Dudley’s IGA store, Ben Franklin, Stevensons and Queen Fashions promoted Crazy Days at the Skyline Mall.
1975 — A letter to the editor from a 15-year-old baby-sitter said couples who spend an evening “wining and dining” can pay more than 50 cents an hour to the baby-sitter.
1955 — More than 250 people attended the annual Minnesota Vegetable Growers Association meeting in Hollandale. The attendees also toured nearby vegetable fields.
