Man injured by circular saw

A Twin Lakes man was transported to Albert Lea Medical Center at 8:16 p.m. Wednesday after he was injured in the leg with a circular saw. According to Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports, the incident took place on the 400 block of Tower Drive in Twin Lakes. The call for service stated the man’s leg was “almost amputated by saw.”
Injury crash reported
A car versus guard rail crash was reported on Interstate 90 milemarker 166 east of Hayward at 10:21 p.m. Thursday. Initial Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports stated there was an injury. No other information was available as of press time.
Second scam call reported
A woman from the 300 block of Main Street in Freeborn reported getting a call from a man claiming to be her grandson Thursday just after noon.
The man reportedly requested money.
A similar call was received by a woman in Hartland last week from a man who claimed to be her grandson. In that case, the man said he was in London and was in trouble. He told her he couldn’t leave the country without coming up with $2,500 and asked her for the money.
The woman realized this was a scam.
Shed fire reported
A shed fire was reported across from the Animal Hospital this morning in Albert Lea.
