Here are highlights in history for July 20, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1988 — A photo quiz by the Tribune asked five area residents if Minnesota should have a lottery. Two of the replies were negative, two replies were positive and one reply was neutral.

1968 — There was a panic scene at the city beach when a young child was reported missing. Lifeguards, swimmers, police and firemen searched the water for the child. Later, a police officer found the child who was on his way home.
