The Southwest Middle School music department will present its spring concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Southwest gymnasium.

Band, choir and orchestra students and their directors have programmed and prepared several selections for the evening, including a sea chanty, a J.S. Bach chorale and minuet, jazz selections, beginning bluegrass music, pop music of the old as well as new varieties, band standards and movie themes. The concert will also include a debut performance of the sixth-grade band.

Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.

The Southwest music ensembles are directed by Rebekah Crissinger, orchestra; Jared Dawson, band; and Sherry Seberson, choir.
