It appears the Freeborn County Fair is the favorite among readers who voted at AlbertLeaTribune.com.

The results of the online poll say that 54 percent of voters like the fair over the other three major Albert Lea events: Eddie Cochran Weekend, the Fourth of July and Big Island Rendezvous.

In the unscientific poll, 641 votes were cast. That translates into 351 votes for the fair alone, giving it a clear majority over the other events.

The fair begins in two weeks. It features many improvements, such as one concert a night instead of two — but that performance is longer than the ones given in previous years. Also, the fair now features an actual Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo. That’s the big time. You will want to don a cowboy hat and get to the rodeo.

The list of fun stuff is long, but some favorites we noticed are the demolition derby and the talent show.

Freeborn County is blessed to have such a spectacular fair. Apparently, the people who voted online realize it.

The Fourth of July came in second, with 20 percent. Big Island Rendezvous had 14 percent. Eddie Cochran Weekend had 9 percent.

Thanks for voting.
