Letter to the editor on Obama was inaccurate

I am writing in response to some of the “inaccuracies” printed about Barack Obama’s patriotism in a recent letter to the editor.
First of all, Michelle Obama never stated that she hated America, and I challenge anyone to prove that she did.
Another inaccuracy involves the pledge of allegiance. Where did anyone get the idea that Obama does not do that? Again, please document.
Perhaps you are referring to a picture of Obama standing at attention, but not saluting to the singing of the national anthem. His respectful stance was completely appropriate and patriotic as the only people who are supposed to salute during the anthem are uniformed military.
These kind of inaccuracies, distortions and lies are brought to us by an administration that has also brought us an illegal war that has bankrupted our country and our military, $4 plus per gallon of gas, a recession, mortgage crisis, crumbling infrastructure and a failing education system. They are perpetuating these lies to try to elect a candidate that promises another four years of these failing policies.
I suggest to all voters that we look at the problems facing this country and the policies, philosphies and plans of the candidates when making our decision in the voting booth. To focus on trumped up, inane, false images of what patriotism means is just a diversion being used to keep us from looking at the candidates’ real positions on the issues.
To quote Mr. Obama, “I will never question the patriotism of any candidate. But I will not stand idly by when mine is questioned.” I may not have gotten the quote exact, but I will not stand idly by when his patriotism is questioned.
