On June 1, Mark Johnson joined Johnson Heating & Air Conditioning in Albert Lea.

Johnson graduated from Albert Lea High School in 2003 and graduated cum laude from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, in May of this year. His degree is in mechanical engineering with a heating and air conditioning emphasis.

During his time at Iowa State, Mark spent three semesters with the Lennox Industries Residential Furnace Research and Development Department in Dallas, Texas, and two semesters with Holabird & Root, Rochester, an architectural and engineering firm specializing in heating, air conditioning and plumbing design.

In addition, Johnson worked at Iowa State University’s Industry Assessment Center providing energy audits for large manufacturing firms to assist in the implementation of energy saving steps within their company.

Kevin Johnson said, “We are excited that Mark decided to return to Albert Lea and join Johnson Heating and Air Conditioning. His arrival begins fourth generation of ownership by the Johnson family. His educational experience also brings new energy and knowledge to our company.”

Mark Johnson will be primarily working with the commercial portion of the business and has extensive knowledge in new energy efficient heating and cooling systems.

He said, “Helping businesses and home owners be as energy efficient as possible with their heating and cooling systems is my role at Johnson Heating and Air Conditioning. My education and experience have provided the tools I need and I am excited to be here and get started. New innovations in geothermal and dual fuel systems are just the beginning of the new energy saving heating and cooling systems for homes and businesses. Johnson Heating and Air Conditioning will always make you aware of the new and exciting opportunities to be comfortable and energy efficient at the same time.”

Johnson Heating and Air Conditioning has served south Minnesota and north Iowa since 1912 and is one of the original Lennox dealers in the state. It is located at 1430 Frank Ave., Albert Lea.
