The Albert Lea U15 boys soccer team (4-0-1) moved closer to a state tournament berth with a 1-1 tie against Rochester and a 5-0 win against Eagan.
Rochester entered the game have only allowed two goals in its previous seven games. A win would give Albert Lea some breathing room atop the district standings.
Cameron Hove turned away all but one shot in the contest and Anthony Tate scored off a free kick for Albert Lea.
The offense controlled nearly the entire game against Eagan. Fernando Peralta and Callen Pirsig both tallied two goals in the 5-0 rout.
Luke Cheever and Cameron Hove each worked a half in goal for the shutout win.
The core group of players have reached the state tournament two of the last three years by advancing through the district playoffs. With two wins in the regular season Albert Lea can advance directly to state.
The team will take to the road Monday to play Richfield.
