Volunteers needed for Salvation Army fundraiser
Published 8:55 pm Saturday, July 10, 2010
On Friday and Saturday, the Albert Lea Salvation Army will be holding its first ever Doughnut Days.
This will be a two-day event where volunteers are needed to man stations at numerous locations across Albert Lea. This is very similar to the Christmas Kettle campaigns. However, instead of kettles, the volunteer will be given a “Doughnut Box” to hold and then politely ask for contributions to help the local Salvation Army. The money raised over these two days will help offset the deficit.
The following locations are available for two-hour time slots:
Hy-Vee, Shopko, Nelson’s, Trail’s Travel Center fuel by McDonald’s, Trail’s Travel Center fuel at the truck entrance in the back, Trail’s Restaurant.
Capt. Jim Brickson and the entire organization is making a plea to any and all residents who are able to sign up and represent The Salvation Army for a short period on the days listed.
Signup can be done by either calling The Salvation Army at 373-5710 or stopping by 302 Court St.
