Community Sew Day as a part of Shinefest will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Senior Center in the Skyline Plaza. The event is open to the public. Bring a sewing machine, scissors and a sack lunch. Beverages and cookies are provided.

Last year 100 uniform bags for an orphanage in Bogota, Columbia, 50 dresses for an orphanage in Jamaica and 45 guilts given to various organizations in Freeborn County were sewn.
