Glenville-Emmons senior Kyle Thompson belted a pitch to the fence in left field with two on and none out in the bottom of the seventh to give the Wolverines their third consecutive victory.
Senior starter Jon Mittag delivered another fine outing for Glenville-Emmons as he went seven innings and allowed one unearned run on two hits. Mittag walked none and struck out 11 for the victory.
“Jon certainly pitched a whale of a game,” said Wolverines head coach Louie Toulouse.
Glenville-Emmons (8-5, 4-2 SEC) had just three hits of its own, but took advantage of Zack Williamson’s double in the second inning to tie the game after the Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead in the first.
Levi Gardner hit a sacrifice fly to score Williamson from third to tie the game.
