Kitty Karn, assistant professor of music at Western Illinois University and former student of Sharon L. Astrup-Scott, performed at Astrup-Scott’s spring music recital, Sunday, June 1, at the First Presbyterian Church, Albert Lea.

Karn is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Victor Karn, Albert Lea.

Daniel Volz, music minor at Augsburg College, and former student of Astrup-Scott, also performed. Vocal, piano, violin, viola and cello participants were Eunice Bakken, Nicole Borneman, Sydney Doran, Tyler Doran, Kayla Jensen, Ariel Keller, Isaiah Kessel, Alicia Louters, Lindsay Louters, Jordan Mayer, Travis Nemec, Kiara Newman, Macy Paul, Charles Stephens, Kristine Volz, Lori Volz, Amanda Wood, Mitchell Wood and Rachel Wood. Unable to attend were Angela Jensen and Monte Steinfeldt.
