1992 — Jim Williamson of Edina would be the new basketball coach at Albert Lea High School. He replaced Doug Christopherson.

1982 — Three of the grandstand performers at the Freeborn County Fair would be Louise Mandrell, R.C. Bannon and Boxcar Willie.

1952 — Russell Voight, the Tribune’s new editor, was honored by the Associated Press for his coverage of a tornado in the Manchester area.
