Thanks for the defibrillators

To call the fundraiser held on Saturday, July 30, a success is putting it mildly. “The Beat Goes On” golf outing was coordinated to support the purchase of new portable defibrillators for local law enforcement and first responders. More than $7,400 was donated to this project. The defibrillator is a tool that is widely used by law enforcement and other first responders and has been responsible for saving many lives throughout the area.
Sheriff Bob Kindler and I want to take this opportunity to thank Green Lea Golf Course for hosting this event. It is great to have local business support these types of efforts to improve services in our community. In addition, all of those who donated items for the silent auction and the drawings deserve a big thank you as well. Without the generosity and support this event would not have been such a success.
We would also like to thank all of the volunteers who worked at this event and made it a fun event for all participants, even in the sweltering heat.
A great deal of hard work behind the scenes goes into planning a large, all-day event such as this. Tim Bennett, a deputy with the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, did an amazing job planning and coordinating every aspect of this event. A special thanks to Tim for his commitment to making this a successful event.
If you were unable to participate in this event but would still like to make a tax-deductable donation, please contact the Law Enforcement Center at 377-5200 Option 9 and ask for Diane.
I’m sure we may have left out someone we should acknowledge, but on behalf of all law enforcement and first responders, Sheriff Bob Kindler and I, thanks to everyone who participated and support us in these efforts.
