HARTLAND — Allyson Renee Olson’s business card reads: “Let me point your tax and accounting needs in the right direction.”
Olson runs her own accounting business, ARO Accounting, out of Hartland. She does income tax prep, bookkeeping and payroll. She was an office manager in Waseca for Ronald Anderly Ltd. Before deciding to venture out on her own in 2006.
“I like numbers,” Olson said. “I’ve always wanted to be an accountant ever since high school.”
ARO Accounting is located at 32718 State Highway 13. As clients pull into the parking area, they’ll notice Olson’s office is conveniently located on her home property.
“I love being so close to home,” Olson said. “It makes hours more flexible for me and my clients. With technology today, like the Internet and fax machines, working so close to home is so much easier.”
Along with the office at home, Olson also maintains an office located at 217 East Elm Ave., Waseca.
“I occasionally travel back and forth, but I prefer working from home,” Olson said. “It’s so much easier on me, especially during tax season when I’m putting in long hours, often staying until 10 or 11 p.m. But working from home saves me the 20-minute commute after such a long day.”
The only downfall to working from home is teaching her three dogs some guidelines, Olson said.
“My clients are usually greeted by a 12-legged welcoming committee,” Olson joked.
When it comes down to it, she is all business. Olson said she is always more than willing to take on new clients, especially since her services are available year-round, unlike some of her bigger competitors.
“I am confident that my services can accommodate all accounting needs,” Olson said. “Just let me point you in the right direction.”
