NRHEG softball wins

MEDFORD &8212; The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva softball team got its season started on the right foot Monday afternoon with a 18-4 win against Medford on the road.
The Panther offense set the tone with 13 hits in just five innings of play, including hits by Chelsey Waltz who went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, Jenna Brekke 2 for 4, 3 RBI, Abby Phillips 2 for 4, 2 RBI, and Paige Schlaak who went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI.
The Panthers will put that 1-0 record to the test later in the week with games Thursday against Blooming Prairie, Friday versus BEA and again on Saturday when they travel to Mankato for the Mankato West Invite.
