The American Bank Foundation has now distributed the proceeds from the Sparky Charity Golf Event held each July. Adrienne Thorson from American Bank presented a check for $8,000 to Habitat for Humanity, Freeborn/Mower at a recent board meeting.

Habitat for Humanity has been one of the major recipients of this event for the last three years. The money given is restricted for building homes in Freeborn County. So far the organization has completed 10 homes in Albert Lea for qualifying families.

The golf event, dinner, and auction have been a major Albert Lea charity fund raiser for 32 years. The American Bank Foundation has sponsored this event for three years with all proceeds raised by participants being given directly to the charitable causes the foundation supports.
