Here are highlights in history for Aug. 7, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — A box guide published in the Tribune listed the containers needed for a move from one home to another. For example, a home with two bedrooms would require 35 boxes.
1980 — Dannebrog Lodge 75 of the Danish Brotherhood was busy raising money to create a statue to be donated to the City of Albert Lea. (This statue is in now in New Denmark Park.)
1960 — The Albert Lea Packers baseball team defeated the team from Estherville Iowa, with a score of 15-8.
