Genevieve Romer, 95, Albert Lea

Genevieve Marie Romer was born in Albert Lea on Jan. 3, 1913. She died in St. Paul on March 4, 2008, at the age of 95.
She was preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Luella Green; siblings, Robert and Helen; husband, Raymond Romer; granddaughter, Melissa Sullivan.
Genevieve is survived by brother Richard Green (Shirley) of Duluth; son, Jon Romer (Sandy) of Cass Lake, and daughter, Judith Sullivan (John)of St. Paul; three living grandchildren, Anders, Brandon, Kirstin and two great grandchildren, Kieran and Wynn.
Genevieve graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1930, attended Mankato Commercial College from 1930-1931 and worked as a private secretary and office worker at the American Gas Company. In 1938 she married Raymond Romer; became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and later joined Ascension Lutheran Church. Her interests were in church work where she taught Sunday School, was active in study groups, Senior Club, sewing club, quilting groups; as well as, teaching piano lessions for over 20 years.
A cremation has taken place and a memorial service is planned for May 17, 2008, at Ascension Lutheran Church at 2 p.m.
