Mildred Budach, 84, New Richland

Funeral services for Mildred Frieda Budach of New Richland will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Congregational Church in New Richland. The Rev. Pamela Jensen will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Friedrich Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Peter&8217;s Cemetery, New Richland.
Mildred Budach died unexpectedly Tuesday Tuesday morning at her home in her husband&8217;s loving arms. She was 84 years of age.
Mildred was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Wells, the daughter of Louie and Emma (Fuchs) Melcher. She attended public school in Wells. On Nov. 2, 1945, she was united in marriage to Gene Budach in Webster City, Iowa. They farmed for 16 years and then moved to New Richland in 1966.
It is there she lovingly supported her husband as he built his dream of owning a farm implement business. Early in her life, Mildred was employed as a meat cutter in a local butcher shop. Later in life she enjoyed raising her family and traveling with her husband. Mildred was an active member of the First Congregational Church and the Women&8217;s Fellowship. She loved to bird watch, bake, cook, garden, can food, read and spend time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dog, Maggie.
Mildred is survived by her husband Gene of New Richland; children, Irene and her husband Ralph Krueger of Waseca, Gary and his wife Kris of New Richland, Lynn and her husband Steven Hagen of New Richland; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Budach of Owatonna. There are 13 grandchildren: Michael (LeeAnne) Budach, Shari (Corey) Mensink, Jessica (Brett) Richards, Jeremy Krueger and special friend Christina, Joshua (Tiffany) Krueger, Tanya (Matt) Schlinger, Holly (Ryan) Nissen, Daniel (Kari) Budach, Nicholas and fianc/ Erin, Jenny (Joseph) Erickson, Stephanie Hagen and special friend Jason, Dustin Hagen and Brandis Hagen; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; son David; son-in-law Randy Knutson; brothers Edward and Vernon; and sisters Alice, Sally and Mabel and sister in law, Pearl.
Mildred will be sadly missed by her husband, family and friends. We wish to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for your kindness, evident in thought and deed, and for your attendance at her visitation and funeral service.
