Dena Citurs, 86, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Dena Citurs, 86, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Glenville. The Rev. Deb Miller will officiate. Dena died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Dena Citurs was born Feb. 11, 1925, to John and Etta (Boelman) DeRaad. She grew up in Hollandale and attended school there. On Jan. 31, 1946, Dena was united in marriage to Lynn Citurs at the First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. Dena worked at American Gas, Carroll George’s in Northwood, Iowa, and she worked in housekeeping at St. John’s Lutheran Home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Glenville. Dena enjoyed reading the Albert Lea Tribune, playing dice and marble games and visiting with friends and relatives. Most of all, Dena loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Robert Citurs and JoAnn Becker; daughters-in-law: Gloria Sharp, Linda Peterson and Jody Anhorn; grandchildren: Chad (Jill) Citurs, Christopher (Gina) Citurs, Cory (Beth) Citurs, Denise (John) Sola, Paul (Cheryl) Citurs and Jason Becker; great-grandchildren: Kalli, Rylan, Sydnee, Jack, Braeya, Bentley, triplets, Carter, Ryan and Kaitlyn and Morgan; sister-in-law, Avis DeRaad; and many nieces and nephews.

Dena was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn; sons: Duane and Eugene; siblings: Earl, Etta, Jerry, LuElla, Jack, Minnie, Nanko, Eldert and two sisters in infancy; sisters-in-law: Gladys Ketcham and Ethel Knutson; and brother-in-law, Glenn Citurs.
