Dennis Steene, 86, Glenville

Dennis W. Steene, 86, was called home to the Lord Feb. 8, 2008.

He was born Dec. 18, 1921, and raised in Glenville. He and his wife, Carole, lived in Glenville until 1997, when they moved south to Sun City, Ariz.

Dennis retired from Wilson Foods in 1984. After retirement, he was always busy helping family and friends and also taking care of his mother-in-law and brother-in-law. He was active in his church and always ready to lend a hand, whether it was leading the church in song or using his carpentry skills.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carole; his son, Larry Steene, and his wife, Bonnie, of Austin; and his daughter, Sandy Jensen, and her husband Wayne Jensen of Sun City, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Troy Jensen and his wife, Esther, of Peoria, Ariz., Michele Phipps and husband, Shannon of Minneapolis, Tami Jensen and her fianc/ Dave Gonzalez of Surprise, Ariz., Marc Steene and his wife, Kim, of Austin; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters in Albert Lea, Charlotte Johnson, Harriet Fisk, and Jewell Dahl and brother-in-law Chester Dahl, also many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Josephine Steene of

Glenville; and brother, Remore Steene.

After a lengthy battle with Parkinson&8217;s and Alzheimer&8217;s disease, he will be sadly missed.
