Albert Lea hockey teams blank John Marshall 11-0

The Albert Lea boys&8217; and girls&8217; hockey team swept past Rochester John Marshall Tuesday night without giving up a goal. The boys won 8-0 while the girls were 3-0 winners.
In the boys&8217; game, the No. 9 Tigers put 66 shots on goal compared to just 12 for the Rockets and got out to a quick lead going up 6-0 after the first period.
Tyler Brackey had the Tigers&8217; first goal followed by a pair of tallies from Jared Bowman. Blake Adams, Mitchell Sorenson and Brackey, with his second goal of the night, rounded out the scoring in the first period.
Mike Falk and Parker Stanley would close out the scoring for the Tigers in the third period.
Tyler Distad saved all 12 shots he saw for Albert Lea.
The win was the 10th straight for Albert Lea as they prepare for a showdown with Mankato West in Mankato Thursday. Both teams have just one Big Nine loss with the Tigers defeating the Scarlets at home earlier this season.
The girls got a pair of goals from Jenna Christensen with Madi Passingham assisting on both while Passingham had the other tally for the Tigers.
Albert Lea dominated the shots in the game taking 59 to John Marshall&8217;s four.
