Mark Peterson, 54, Blooming Prairie

Funeral services for Mark Robert Peterson, 54, of Blooming Prairie will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be at Round Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mark died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at Austin Medical Center.
Mark Robert Peterson was born on June 6, 1953, to Robert and Solvieg (Storvick) Peterson in Albert Lea. Mark was baptized at Round Prairie Lutheran Church and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. He attended Albert Lea Schools and graduated in 1971. After graduation Mark served in the United States Army. He married Coleen Pepperling in June of 1977, they were later divorced. Mark lived most of his life in Freeborn County. He worked in heavy construction and trucking, most recently with Schmitt Trucking of New Richland. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, loved motorcycles and trucking. Mark especially enjoyed spending time with his sons, family and many friends.
Survivors include his sons, Jeremy and Tyler of Hollandale; mother, Solvieg of Albert Lea; brothers, Ried (Beth) Peterson of Albert Lea, and Ross (Shelly) Peterson of Glenville; sister Monica (Mike) Robinson of Osceola, Wis.; former wife, Coleen of Hollandale; and many nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Robert in 1988; and grandparents.
