Larry Sigurdson, 59, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Larry Sigurdson, 59, of Albert Lea will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by the Freeborn County veterans organizations. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Larry died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at Good Samaritan Center.
Larry was born on July 9, 1948, to Ralph and Gladys (Leidal) Sigurdson in Albert Lea. Larry graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his discharge, Larry returned to Albert Lea and worked for Queens, Streater and Naeve Hospital. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and formerly a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion and the VFW. Larry loved motorcycles, going up north to the cabin with his parents, and he also enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include his mother, Gladys of Albert Lea; sister, Pat (Tim) Miller of Austin; nieces and nephews, Bob Oakland of Coon Rapids, Tim Shurson of Waukegan, Ill., Chad Heiny of Chino Hills, Calif., and Tiffany Nowak of Wells; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; and sister, Lorraine Oakland.
