In wrestling, No. 12 NRHEG Panthers handle Blue Earth

NEW RICHLAND &8212; The 12th-ranked New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva wrestling team earned a 41-31 dual victory over Blue Earth Area Thursday.
The Panthers got off to a slow start falling behind 18-0 after three weights which included a forfeit.
Josh Schroeder earned an escape in the second period and held on for a 1-0 win over Bryce Werner and Alex Moen picked up a technical fall at 130 17-0 to pull NRHEG within 18-8.
The Panthers&8217; Brandon Espe was pinned at 135, but Matt Bartsch got the point back sticking Collin Nienhaus in 3:55.
From there the Panthers started to roll.
Colton Schlaak, No. 7 Tim Bartness and Colton Eustice all racked up falls while top-ranked Gaven Schlaak won a 10-5 decision at 171. David Lindell would conclude the Panthers&8217; wins with a pin at 189 as NRHEG went up 41-24.
The Panthers are back in action next Friday when they travel to Fargo, N.D., to take part in the Rumble in the Red Tournament.
