Bette Westrum, 84, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Bette Jane Westrum, 84, of Albert Lea, will be held at
2 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Bette died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center.
Bette Jane Westrum was born on Feb. 22, 1923, to Freeman and Sarah (Iehl) Hanson in Iowa Falls, Iowa. In 1933 the family moved to the Glenville area. Bette attended school in Glenville and graduated from Albert Lea High School. After graduation, she worked at Woolworth
& Co. Bette married Orville Westrum on Aug. 9, 1942, in Glenville. She worked at Wilson Foods in Albert Lea for 23 years and retired in 1973. Bette was a member of the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea and a member of the Albert Lea Moose Lodge. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville; son, Larry Michael; and sister, Mrs. Owen (Irene) Hoyt.
