William (Bill) H. Schmidt, 91, of Albert Lea, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea.

Funeral services for William will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake. The Rev. Wendy Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Concordia Lutheran Cemetery.

William was born June 30, 1916 on the farm in Freeborn County, the son of William and Laura (Bailey) Schmidt. He attended country school in Freeborn County.

Bill was a dairy farmer and lived and worked on the farm in Freeborn County all of his life. He was an active member of the Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed fishing and spending winters in Arizona.

Bill is survived by his caregiver and special friend Verla Eilers and family of Albert Lea, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Lowell and Jason Eilers (Verla&8217;s son).
