Edward Underwood Sr., 78, Waseca

Edward F. Underwood Sr., age 78 of Waseca, formerly of Emmons, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.
Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca with the Rev. Roger Haug officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Emmons.
Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service, at McRaith Funeral Home.
Edward Francis was born on Nov. 10, 1929, to Henry and Margie (Myers) Underwood in Orange, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy from Feb. 19, 1947, until his honorable discharge on Jan. 31, 1950. He returned home to Texas and was united in marriage to Marjorie Mae Stene on April 8, 1950, in Orange, Texas. Edward and Marjorie lived in Texas for a short time before moving to Emmons. Edward worked at Queens Products in Albert Lea, retiring after 35
years of service. He continued to work for a few years, driving a combine during the pea pack at Birds Eye in Waseca. Following his wife&8217;s death in October of 1999, Edward lived in Albert Lea for a short time before moving to Waseca to be near his son. Over the years he enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, John (Lori) Underwood of Waseca, Jim (Lori) Underwood of Louisiana, and his daughter, Deb Colebank of St. Michael, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, by his son Edward F. Underwood Jr. in July of 2000, his daughter Kimberly at infancy, and by his sister.
Casket bearers are Jenna Colebank, Jason Colebank, Chad Grundwald, Adam Grundwald, Michelle Underwood and Thomas Underwood.
