Funeral services for Elinor R. Nielsen of Albert Lea will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Chapel. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mrs. Nielsen died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 70 years of age.

Elinor was born April 24, 1937, in Albert Lea, the daughter of George and Mary (Koch) Henrichs. She attended public school in Albert Lea. On July 27, 1956, she was united in marriage to Richard Nielsen at the Baptist Church in Albert Lea.

Elinor had been employed for many years in the housekeeping department of St. Joseph&8217;s Hospital in Mankato and also at Banquet Foods in Wells.

She enjoyed shopping and watching soap operas, reading and having coffee with her friends.

Elinor is survived by her children, Randy and his wife Wendy Nielsen of Nicollet and Marilyn and her husband Gerald Dunkleberger of Faribault. There are 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren surviving.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Russell Briggs and son-in-law Russell Kolb.
