Jacqueline Ballhagen, 75, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Jacqueline (Jackie) Ellen Ballhagen of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Visitation will be held today from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Jacqueline died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 75 years of age.

Jackie was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Veryl and Helen (Franke) Draeger. She graduated from Rockford High School in Iowa and attended Hamilton Business College. Jackie moved to Albert Lea in 1953 and has resided here ever since. On June 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Harold Ballhagen in Nora Springs, Iowa. She was employed for a short time at Wilson and Co. and then as a nurses aide at the Broadway Board and Care for over 17 years.

Jackie was a member of the United Methodist Church and sang for many years in the church choir. She was a member of TOPS 979. In her free time, Jackie loved collecting cook books, cats and bells. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, cross stitch, travel and spending time with her family.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Harold of Albert Lea; children, Mary and her husband Dan Thompson of Clear Lake, Iowa, Amy Walton of Storm Lake, Iowa, and her husband Danny of Clarks Grove, and Sara and her husband Ricky Behrends of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Christina Johnson, Katherine Johnson, David (Alicia) Johnson, Jamie Walton and Alyce Walton; and great-grandchildren, Destiny Hernandez, Hunter Hernandez, Sahara Hernandez and Tristan Johnson. There are also many cousins surviving.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Veryl and Helen, and her in-laws, Raymond and Mary Ballhagen.
