Lila Kniss, 75, Albert Lea

The memorial service of Lila Rose Kniss of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be in the Freeborn Cemetery, Freeborn. Friends may visit with family one hour before service at the chapel.
Lila died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea. She was 75 years old.
Lila was born in Albert Lea on June 30, 1932, the daughter of Walter and Eva(Nelson) Johnson. She attended Albert Lea Public Schools. Lila had been a resident of Freeborn County all of her life. She was married to Robert V. Kniss on April 14, 1956, in Mason City, Iowa.
Lila enjoyed country music, cooking and was a great Minnesota Twins fan.
She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her special pets.
Lila is survived by her children: Olene (Donald) Eckart of Albert Lea, Brian Kniss of Albert Lea; son-in-law, Ronald Laite of Albert Lea; grandchildren: LeAnn, Zachary (Brenda), Amy, dean, Ronald Jr., Josephine and Christine; six great-grandchildren; sisters: Eilene (Keith) Davidson of Kiester, Diana (Gordon) Helmers of Mason City, Iowa; brother, Dean (Joanie) Johnson of Minoqua, Wis.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; two sons, Kurt Anderson and Mitchell Kniss; daughter, Genevieve Laite; sisters, Connie, Loretta, Lorraine and Evon; and brothers: Harland and Merrill.
