Semi, aluminum stolen

A semitrailer with about 12,000 pounds of aluminum was reported stolen from a recycling plant south of New Richland Monday, according to the Waseca County Sheriff&8217;s Office.

The semitrailer has since been recovered, though the aluminum was not.

&8220;With the scrap prices being so high, individuals are being able to take it and sell it off,&8221; said Chief Deputy Brad Milbrath with the Waseca County Sheriff&8217;s Office.

New laws have helped deter some of these situations, but some are still occurring, Milbrath said.

Boy arrested for domestic assault

Police arrested a 13-year-old boy at 7:22 p.m. Tuesday for domestic assault on the 1300 block of Crestview Road, according to police reports. Reports indicated the boy pulled a knife and threatened to stab his parents. No one was injured, and the boy was taken into custody to a detention center awaiting charges in Freeborn County District Court.
