Beverly Wendorff, 80, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Beverly R. Wendorff of Albert Lea will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Church of St. Theodore, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Traufler and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Beverly died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at Albert Lea Medical Center

Beverly Rose Wendorff was born on Dec. 4, 1926, to Sidney R. and Rose Mae (Connelly) Raabe, in Marmouth, N.D. She grew up in Platte, S.D., and graduated from Platte High School in 1944. She received her nursing degree in 1947 from the St. Andrews Hospital School of Nursing. Beverly married Harold J. Wendorff on Nov. 24, 1948, in Gaylord. She worked for hospitals in Gaylord, Austin and Albert Lea. In addition to her nursing career, Beverly helped and supported her husband&8217;s businesses. She retired from nursing as a nursing supervisor at Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center in 1989. Beverly was a member of the Church of St. Theodore and former member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed both history and geography and loved reading maps. Her dedication to her family was her first priority.

Survivors include her husband, Harold of Albert Lea; children, Rose Mary (Greg) Andersen, Mariann (Ron Banse) Miller, Paul (Barb) Wendorff, Richard (Debra) Wendorff, Jim (Stephanie)Wendorff and Janet (Ahmed) Haidar; grandchildren, Matt, Kristen ad Katey Andersen, Derek (Carrie Lewis) Miller, Devon Miller, Michael, Shandra, and Robyn Wendorff, Holly, Jacob (Alyssa) and Amanda Wendorff, Jill (Ryan) Heasley, Anne, Jenna, James and Brooke Wendorff, and Jamilee, Noah, and Jasmine Haidar; six great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Triggs; and several nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bradley; great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Rose Andersen; mother-in-law, Anne Wendorff; father-in-law, Adolph Wendorff; brothers-in-law, Lester Triggs and Wallace Wendorff; and sister-in-law, Joann (Dean) Bronson.
