AUSTIN &8212; Albert Lea&8217;s girls&8217; soccer match with Austin was halted with 17:30 left to go in the second half, but not before the Tigers picked up the 1-0 win Tuesday.
It was the second time the Tigers have shutout Austin this season.
Having to play against a stiff wind in the first half, the Tigers took control when Connor Peterson scored off a short corner kick with the assist going to Mariah Maras 10 minutes in.
The Tigers dominated the shots besting the Packers 20-4 in the game.
&8220;We got their best shot and it was Parents Night so they played with a lot of effort,&8221; Albert Lea head coach Rick Barnhill said. &8220;We had a lot of chances but we didn&8217;t play with a lot of rhythm.&8221;
None of the Packers&8217; four shots were all that dangerous, but the Tigers just missed extending their lead as Abbey Arends had a couple of shots go wide.
The Tigers (6-1-1) are back in action tomorrow when they host rival Owatonna.
