Clara Rolands, 89, Spokane, Wash.

Clara E. Rolands, 89, formerly of Forest City, Iowa, presently residing in Spokane, Wash., died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Riverview Care Center in Spokane.

The funeral service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City with the Rev. Wayne Hagen officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and an hour prior to the service.

Clara E. Rolands was born on Aug. 21, 1918, at Conger, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Huber) Beck. She moved with her family from the family farm to Albert Lea in 1930. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1937.

She was married in 1942 to Reuben Rolands of Lake Mills. She lived in the Iowa towns of Joice, Hanlontown, Nora Springs, Emmetsburg and Forest City before moving to Spokane, Wash., in March of 2002.

Clara is survived by her sons, David of Spokane,Wash., Brian of Houston, Texas, and daughter Karen of Ames, Iowa, and five grandchildren: Brandon, Jordon, Jennifer, Paul, and Tim and a brother, Raymond Beck of Albert Lea.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Reuben and a sister, Virgina Dahl.

Clara was loved so much by the staff at Riverview where they were honored to be her caregivers. She had many dear friends in Iowa and Minnesota. She will be missed so much by her family.
