Memorial services for Sharon L. Diaz, 60, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Sharon died on Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Sharon Lee Diaz was born on Jan. 6, 1947, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Lester and Lavonne (Giselson) Leidal. She Has been a life-long resident of Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1965. She Also was a graduate of ALTEC. Sharon had worked for Land O Lakes, was a lab tech for Freeborn Foods, and a dietary aide at Thorne Crest. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge, and the Moose Lodge. Sharon enjoyed playing pool, cribbage, and Texas Holdem.

Survivors include her children: Robert Diaz of Albert Lea, and Paul and his wife Marissa Diaz of Albert Lea; her granddaughter, Alyson Diaz; sisters Susan and husband Jack Weitzel, Sandra and husband Steven Johnson, Shellie Cameron and fianc/ Doug Schroeder, JoAnne and husband Lloyd Palmer, Jean and husband Jon Carmichael, Jan Matson, Judy and husband Gary Fisher, Mae Kopischke, and Elaine and husband Frank Trejo; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lavonne; niece, Nicole Fisher; and her brother-in-law, Darryl Matson.
