Former Albert Lea High School basketball coach and art teacher has taken a similar position at Kenyon-Wanamingo High School in southeast Minnesota, about 60 miles northeast of Albert Lea, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported Thursday.
Addington was beloved by Albert Lea fans during his four-year tenure with the Tigers.
After leaving Albert Lea for Lakeville South, he found turmoil, despite a state appearance in his first year.
&8220;It was hard to work in a place where you knew you couldn&8217;t trust everyone,&8221; Addington told the Star-Tribune.
The boiling point came after a game with Owatonna, which resulted in a suspension and investigation launched by the school&8217;s athletics director. The report alleged Addington uttered two profanities and kicked a trash can.
Following the investigation by the school, Addington was informed he would not be invited back for a third year on the sidelines at Lakeville South, which was a new high school in 2005-06.
Kenyon-Wanamingo is in Section 2, Class AA and plays in the Hiwawatha Valley League.
