It has been a busy month of baseball for the 10-and-under Albert Lea Knights baseball team.

The weekend of June 9 and 10 the Knights traveled to New Ulm for a Tournament of Champions State Tournament qualifier. The team finished fourth and received a bid to the Tournament of Champions which will take place in Brooklyn Park, July 13-15.

Last weekend the Knights traveled to Mankato and competed in the Mankato Royals 16-team tournament. The team went 4-2 in the tournament and won the consolation championship.

The Knights will be hosting a tournament Saturday and Sunday at Snyder Field in Albert Lea. Games start at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Tryouts for 2008 Knights baseball will be held July 28 at Snyder Field with 8 and 9 year olds at 9 a.m. and 10 year olds at 11 a.m. For more information, contact Kelly Bordewick at 507-377-2676.
