Shirley Grove, 75, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Shirley A. Grove, age 75, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Theodore Catholic Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. Jim Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Shirley died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home.
Shirley Ann Grove was born June 21, 1931, to Henry A. Toupal and Rose (Ocenasek) Toupal in Olivia. She graduated from New Ulm High School and attended St. Aloysius Church. Shirley was united in marriage to Richard C Grove on April 14, 1956, in Albert Lea. She was a homemaker all her life. Her loves of life were her husband Richard, children and grandchildren, other things she enjoyed were rummage sales, country music, playing cards, traveling, dancing and volunteering to transport people around town. Shirley belonged to Tops, the neighborhood Bonco Club and St. Theodore Church.
Survivors include her husband Richard; daughters: Karen Jacobson (fiance Greg Kral) of Albert Lea and Connie (Scott) VerHey of Rosemount; sons: Greg (Petra) Grove of Albert Lea and Ricky (Pat) Grove of Clarks Grove; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers: Arnold (Lillian) Toupal, Marvin (Lois) Toupal, Richard Toupal and Henry Toupal; sisters-in-law: Marge (Calvin) Dammen and Jeannie Hallum; and brother-in-law Harold (Babe) Grove.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Jeanette, mother and father-in-law Charlotte and Ira Grove, brothers-in-law Robert and Roger, sister-in-law Beverly Grove, and nieces and nephew Joanne Hallum, Tanya Grove and Jim Toupal.
