She deserved a break today

I would just like to thank someone who brightened my day today (Aug. 18). I was driving through McDonald’s, and I saw a van to my left. The van’s driver thought I cut in front of him. The man inside looked mad, so I backed up and let him through. I think he thought I was angry with him, because he kept waving me through. I had nowhere to go at the time, and assumed he was getting lunch for work, so I let him go.

He probably was on more of a tight schedule than I was. I was a little miffed because he seemed so angry that I cut him in line. Misunderstandings can occur easily when people are in their cars and rushing around.

I ordered and got up to the window to pay and the woman told me he had already paid for me. He told her that he owed me a lunch because I let him go first. This man, who didn’t even know me, bought my lunch. I switched from miffed to amazed in the two minutes it took me to drive through McDonald’s. I just would like to thank this man, because I could not find him afterward. I am proud to call myself a Minnesotan when I witness people doing nice things for each other. Thank you to everyone in the community who makes living here enjoyable.
