Carl Bergstad, 57, Albert Lea

The memorial service for Carl David Bergstad of Albert Lea will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. Reggie Klindworth will officiate. Interment will be in Salem Memorial Cemetery, Lake Mills, Iowa.

Carl died on Monday, May 28, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center. He was 57.

He was born on Oct. 26, 1949, in Albert Lea, the son of Carl and Katherine (O’Rourke) Bergstad. He was a lifetime resident of Albert Lea and enjoyed working at Lou Rich through Cedar Valley Services. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. Carl enjoyed walking, spending time with his family and he especially missed his friends at Shady Oaks when he moved to Good Samaritan Center.

He is survived by two sisters: Mary Beck of Albert Lea, Carol Christianson and her fianc/ Myron Speer of Carpenter, Iowa; two half brothers, Gene Lovik of Northwood, Iowa, and Roger Lovik of Mankato; special friends Merill Johnson of Hartland and Nancy Nimz of Albert Lea; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Helen Vale and half brother Ron Lovik.

Carl will be greatly missed by his family.
