After 36 1/2 years Tom Schleck is retiring this month from the Freeborn County Department of Human Services. Stop by and wish him farewell and good luck in the next leg of his journey through life. A party will be held in his honor today from 2 to 4 p.m. in Room 241 of the Freeborn Count Department of Human Services, 203 W. Clark St. in Albert Lea.
Schleck was most recently a chemical dependency case manager &8212; the only one in Freeborn County &8212; and has previously worked as a social worker for the county.
&8220;He was a very enjoyable person to work for,&8221; said Helen Steene, Social Services secretary.
Steene said he is very kind, cares for his clients and was dedicated to his work. He also had a great sense of humor, she said.
Schleck also worked with vulnerable adults who needed outside assistance with health care or other such representation.
His last day of work is Friday.
