Funeral services for Leonard O. Jepson, 89, of Albert Lea, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service at St. John&8217;s.
Leonard died on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home.
Born Leonard Otto Jepson on June 21, 1917, the youngest child of Marius and Martina (Jorgenson) Jepson. He attended District 103 in Bath Township. Leonard married Nora Christina Jepson, daughter of Tosten and Inga (Madson) Reistad on Feb. 6, 1938, in Northwood, Iowa, in a judge&8217;s home. Leonard and Nora were faithful members of Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Leonard worked at Speltz Elevator and also at Enderes Tool Co. from 1959 to 1982, when he retired. He loved working with his hands and making things and going fishing.
Survivors include his two daughters, Ruth Ann (Larry) Majeski of Wells and Doris (Tom) Bartholomew of Belle Plaine; grandchildren, Lisa Johnson, Douglas Schroeder, Sherry Bartholomew, Blaine Schroeder, Justin Bartholomew, and Troy and Chad Jensen; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Christina Johnson, Kendra and Kellie Schroeder, Angela, Brook and Annie Schroeder, Haley Bartholomew, Kasey, Tyler, Damion, and Andrew Jensen, and Dylan and Brittany Jensen; and one great-great-grandson, Jose Mario Navarrete, Jr.; sister-in-law, Irene (Ervin) Pietan of Wells; and brother-in-law, Vernon (Ethel) Jepson, of Waseca.
Leonard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nora in 2003; his parents; sisters: Anna, Mary, Alma, Emma, and Lily; brothers, Jens and Raynard; and son-in-law, Charles Schroeder.
Leonard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all of us whose heart he touched. Blessed be his memory.
